bianca's Herb Garden : Uva Ursi
Uva ursi also called the bearberyy and the upland cranberry. The leaves of
this perennial evergreen are used in tea or tincture as an astringent and
tonic for bronchitis, as a diruetic and disinfectant of the excretory
and reproductive systems, and as a douche for leukorrhea. The bearberry
has also been strongly recommended as a tonic astringent for bedwetters
and for cases of nephritis and kidney stones. Large doses are oxytocic.
