bianca's Herb Patch : Jaborandi
This plant is grown mainly in Brazil. Its leaves are used as a stimulant
to the excretory glands as it increases all the secretions of the
body (bronchial, nasal, mammory, salivary, and sweat).
The name jaborandi is also given to several dissimilar plants that have the
same effect. Jaborandi can be used as an abortive or an antidote to
atropine and other posions. A full dose taken internally can be
dangerous; it causes intense sweating and should therefore be used
with great care. (reminds bianca of slop)
However, it is a strong and definite stimulus to hair growth and it can be
used externally in hair tonics and vinegar hair rinses.
